About us;
The above club was formed in 1981 by a group of enthusiasts, for those people who are interested in scale and stand-off scale models of launches, boats, ships and sailing vessels.
Models presently encompassed by the society, range from the simplest kitset available to sophisticated radio-controlled models which have taken years to complete-.
Sailing days.
Sailing takes place on our club pool, which is adjacent to the A.S.M.E.
Railway complex at Petersons reserve, Panmure Basin, Auckland City. Sailing usually commences at 10.00 hours (10.00 a.m.) until approximately 15.30 hours (3.30 p.m.) members are, of course, able to sail on the club pool whenever they wish and the club pool is in use every Sunday as follows:
1st.sunday:
Free sailing from approximately 10.00 hours (10.00 a.m.)
From time to time the club boats may be put on in the afternoon as on the 2nd and 4th Sundays.
2nd & 4th Sunday: club boats available for the public to use for a
small donation from 13.00 hours (1.00 p.m.) to 16.00 hours (4.00 p.m.)
On public sailing days members can also sail provided their frequencies do not clash with those of the club boats.
3rd Sunday: is competition day. Which provides members with a
chance to operate their models through designated courses? Society sailing rules apply and a frequency pegboard will normally operate to obleviate radio frequency interference. Competition usually commences around 10.00 a.m.
Auckland Model Vehicle Collectors Club.
Email :jlberry@xtra.co.nz
The above club was formed in 2003 by a small group of bus enthusiasts, then extended to all model vehicle enthusiasts.
We meet monthly at a members house on the first Saturday of the month. We have a meeting followed by model competition, supper and a look at the collectors models. It is great to see what other people are collecting and to see what they have new since the last visit.
A model competition with a different category is held each month. The winner gets a voucher donated by L & J Collectibles. A lot of friends have been made and an enjoyable time is had by all.
